  • The Dr. Rev. Evalina Huggins, serves as the Presiding Elder of the Baltimore District in the Philadelphia and Baltimore Conference, the largest District within the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal District with 19 churches. She is also the former Presiding Elder of the Kingstown District in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.  

    Dr. Huggins received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Barton College (Wilson, NC 1988) in Religion and Philosophy; Master’s in Counseling from the Univ. of Kentucky and Masters of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary (Lexington, KY 1991), Doctorate of Education Suffice from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale, IL 1995); Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary (Washington, DC 2009) and an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science from the University of the District of Columbia (Washington, DC 2012).  She has reached the Supervisory Level in Clinical Pastoral Education and is a licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland. She currently is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the District of Columbia with privileges in Maryland and Virginia.  

    Dr. Huggins has authored three books and published one book.

    She is now celebrating 38 years of active ministry.  She keeps her right foot forward as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She desires to live, preach and teach the principles of the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ without apology and without compromise. “I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13)

    She has been elected to six consecutive General Conferences as a clergy delegate. Dr. Huggins has pastored Mayslick Christian Church (Mayslick, KY), Smith Memorial AMEZ (DuQuoin, IL), People’s Choice AMEZ (Alexandria, VA), Beth-El AMEZ (Alexandria, VA), North Brentwood AMEZ (N. Brentwood, MD), Varick Memorial AMEZ (Washington, DC), Pennsylvania Avenue AMEZ (Baltimore, MD as supply Pastor) and currently the Scotland AMEZ Church (Potomac, MD)
